Year 6 spellings can now be found on ‘Purple Mash’ so that children can practise them interactively on a laptop or ipad.
Every child has their own log on and password for the site and have been shown how to access their spellings. There is a ‘2do’ to complete and they have an e-mail link (sent to the children’s own ‘Purple Mash 2simple’ e-mail account) to continue practising once this is completed.
Children are always given a paper copy of the spellings as well, every Monday.
In Year 6, the children are expected to read every night for about 20-30 mins and record it in their reading diaries. It would be great if parents could listen to their child read regularly and sign the diary to confirm that the reading homework has been done. I collect the diaries every week and children receive group and individual points for the completion of this homework.
Diaries to be handed in as follows:
|Blue Group – Monday||Orange Group – Tuesday|
|Green Group – Wednesday||Blue Group – Thursday|
Children are encouraged to practise their times tables on ‘TTRockstars’, which is a fun website where children can practise and improve their own scores and they can also compete against others in the class and also against other children across the world – they love it!
