Nursery Provision

30 Hour Provision: From September 2017, 15 hour nursery entitlement for all 3 and 4 year olds increased to 30 hours per week for eligible families. .

Eligibility

All families in England with a three or four year old child are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare or early education for 38 weeks.

An additional 15 hours per week will be available to families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family).  Each parent must earn, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at national minimum wage or national living wage.

Each parent must also have an annual income of less than £100,000.  Where one parent in the household earns more than £100,000 the family will not be eligible to receive the additional 15 hours per week.

Parents should be notified by HMRC if they are entitled to a 30 hour place.  Parents will be given a Department for Education Reference Number (DERN).

This reference number, along with the parent’s national insurance number and child’s date of birth should be provided to the school office at the time of applying for a place to enable us to verify eligibility for the additional 15 hours.

Parents will be expected to verify their eligibility every 3 months with HMRC.

September Nursery Places – Full Time
We offer 30 hour provision for nursery places to eligible families.  To request the full 30 hour entitlement, simply complete the appropriate boxes on the nursery application form.  A full day in Nursery will run from 8.45am to 3.15pm each day.  Children staying for the full day will receive lunchtime provision free of charge; therefore meaning that at Yarlside Academy children will receive almost 33 hours per week with their 30 hour entitlement.  During lunchtime, parents will have a choice of either sending a packed lunch or purchasing a lunch from our school kitchen.

September Nursery Places – Part-time places
For those families either not eligible for the 30 hours entitlement or those who simply choose not to use their full 30 hour entitlement, we will still be offering our 15 hour nursery entitlement. Parents can select either the morning or afternoon sessions.  Parents can also purchase additional sessions outside of their 15 hour allocation. Please note that we will not be accepting any applications for less than 15 hours.  Any pupils attending our half-day sessions will have the option of adding lunchtime (11.45am to 12.15 pm) to their 3 hour session. This will be charged at £2 per day.  During lunchtime, parents will have a choice of either sending a packed lunch or purchasing a lunch from our school kitchen.
